Founder and Executive Director at Voice For The Animals Foundation
Venice, CA
“At Voice For The Animals, we treat each life as if it was our own”
Melya founded Voice For The Animals Foundation in 1999. She was inspired to start Voice For The Animals after seeing many homeless cats and dogs wandering the streets of Venice when she first moved to the community. She quickly realized there was a dire need for a new type of animal protection organization.
Since it’s founding, VFTA has expanded into a wide variety of programs that work to end abuse and homelessness for animals in the city of Los Angeles, and to inspire programs around to world to work toward the same goal.
